Abrupt ending。 Good story, despite the depressing attitude toward life。

I'm crushed。 I read this book in one night。。。I truly just couldn't get enough and had to see how it ended。 Im pretty wrecked by the ending。。。I wish the author had wrapped it up a little nicer。。。。even if it wasn't a fairy tale happily ever after。 I don't know if I'll ever stop thinking about this book。 I knew it wasn't a happy ending, but it just felt so "done。" I wanted something else I guess? I have not been sucked into a book like this in a long time。 Hook, line & sinker! Could not stop reading, or put it down。 These two characters will be in my mind for a long time, that I know。 Only thing that stopped me from 5 BIG stars is the ending! That one rocked me!

This was one of my most favorite books that I’ve read this year。 I’ve recommended it to so many of my friends and family members。 I could not put it down。 Hoping for more books from this author。

This book is for all the hopeless romantics。 Praying for a sequel。

Heart shattering…This book was so bad。 It’s enough to make you kind of angry that you wasted your time and connected with the characters only to be drastically let down。 This could’ve been an amazing story and some of it was… until the end。 Devastating and heartbreaking are the first words that come to mind。 The intro talks about a woman finding herself - blah blah。 Nope。 It’s more along the lines of a woman finding herself, finding happiness and then letting it all go for the same reasons she w Heart shattering…This book was so bad。 It’s enough to make you kind of angry that you wasted your time and connected with the characters only to be drastically let down。 This could’ve been an amazing story and some of it was… until the end。 Devastating and heartbreaking are the first words that come to mind。 The intro talks about a woman finding herself - blah blah。 Nope。 It’s more along the lines of a woman finding herself, finding happiness and then letting it all go for the same reasons she was unhappy to begin with! Ugh, my heart! Shattered。 It's been a long time since a book gave me alllllll the feels。 Age gap romances are not my thing usually, but I read so much positive feedback that I had to give this one a try。 It got repetitive at times, but was truly so so good。 Ugh, my heart! Absolutely cruel ending No, you know what? I’m furious about this book。 I don’t read romance to feel bad, and this book made me feel bad。 The ending was so cruel, and it completely ruined the entire book。 Just no。

I really liked the relationship between Sol and Hayes。 And i hope to remember to read this book again when i have children because i'd love to take parenting tips from Sol。 That being said, the end absolutely shocked me。 I found myself thinking about it for the rest of the day, staring into space and asking myself why。 I really liked the relationship between Sol and Hayes。 And i hope to remember to read this book again when i have children because i'd love to take parenting tips from Sol。 That being said, the end absolutely shocked me。 I found myself thinking about it for the rest of the day, staring into space and asking myself why。 。。。more

Honestly, 5 stars is not enough for this masterpiece。 Ms。 Lee’s words follow from the pages and captivated every piece of my mind。“The Idea of You” follows Solène Marchand, 39-year-old, divorced mother, and 20-year-old boy band megastar, Hayes Campbell, on a steamy, yet utterly beautiful journey to something a little more than “just lunch。” For the moment we meet Solène you just automatically feel drawn to her。 She has not loved anyone since her divorce and when Hayes, who has a reputation for l Honestly, 5 stars is not enough for this masterpiece。 Ms。 Lee’s words follow from the pages and captivated every piece of my mind。“The Idea of You” follows Solène Marchand, 39-year-old, divorced mother, and 20-year-old boy band megastar, Hayes Campbell, on a steamy, yet utterly beautiful journey to something a little more than “just lunch。” For the moment we meet Solène you just automatically feel drawn to her。 She has not loved anyone since her divorce and when Hayes, who has a reputation for liking older women, sets his eyes on her you know there’s something there。 Hayes is not your typical rockstar, he is smart, witty, and can do some things with his hands…This book definitely had me comparing Hayes to real life rockstar, Harry Styles。 His description, his personality, but it also felt so new at the same time。 I have read One Direction fanfiction before so I am no stranger to a good smutty fic, but this was so much, much more! This book has depth and brings an entirely new view on ageism that I hadn’t thought about before。 I love how powerful and poised Solène was, it was such a joy to read her thoughts。 Other reviewers did not like that there wasn’t a happy ending, but I think it was the ending the book deserved for now。 That being said, I would still definitely buy a sequel if there ever was one!Overall, you’ve got to read this one。 I will definitely keep it on my self and reread it when I miss the band and the connection the two main charters had。 #AugieForLife 。。。more

I loved this book: Much classier and sexier version than 50 Shades of Grey (with no S&M)。 I sure hope there’s a sequel!

Recommended by two people。 I remember rolling my eyes at the premise a few years ago, but this was like the poshest and best written romance novel I've read in eons。 Really enjoyed the rich galavanting, designer name drops, and high art tie ins。 Fake Harry Styles was entertaining as well。 I liked the believable central conflict -- hard to get over no matter how much love/lust is there。 I'd read a sequel in a heartbeat。 Recommended by two people。 I remember rolling my eyes at the premise a few years ago, but this was like the poshest and best written romance novel I've read in eons。 Really enjoyed the rich galavanting, designer name drops, and high art tie ins。 Fake Harry Styles was entertaining as well。 I liked the believable central conflict -- hard to get over no matter how much love/lust is there。 I'd read a sequel in a heartbeat。 。。。more

Boy bands only last for so long, probably would have been a few more years of being mostly happy and then probably entirely happy。 Not I wanted to like this book so much。 I was all on board for a and instead I was left feeling ancient at 30 with apparently no hope, because I have a kid I guess that means I give up my own happiness in favor of theirs even though at 13 kids are never happy, like if it wasn’t her mom it would have been something else。 What was she teaching her daughter at the end?? Ok Will say I loved it maybe more because I am in my forties and could relate。。I loved that depth in the story and his youth that it's possible to make it work。。It was heart breaking as we mothers know we put everyone before our own happiness。It was a nice read and I love that it wasn't all smut。 Not to descriptive。 I however i would of preferred he would be of been least 25。 Even though he was mature and the relationship seemed believable。。。I would of loved a follow-up of them years later。Maybe Ok Will say I loved it maybe more because I am in my forties and could relate。。I loved that depth in the story and his youth that it's possible to make it work。。It was heart breaking as we mothers know we put everyone before our own happiness。It was a nice read and I love that it wasn't all smut。 Not to descriptive。 I however i would of preferred he would be of been least 25。 Even though he was mature and the relationship seemed believable。。。I would of loved a follow-up of them years later。Maybe it still could be written。。。Enjoyed the heart break in the end but it was such a cut and dry ending。 。。。more

Not for everyone。 But I surprised myself by liking it quite a bit。 Someone described it as 50 shades meets Backstreet boys which I would say is accurate。 Definitely cheesy at times but I found the relationship between the main characters sweet and moving。 Recommend for a light read, perfect for summer

Laura Santoski

Picked up as a light summer read, but there was some real stuff in here, particularly as it pertains to women and aging。 As far as romance novels go, it was fairly well written, though it dragged a little at parts and had some cheesy parts too。

I finally get it, I think I resisted reading this quickly because I didn’t want to lose these characters。 It’s so brokenly beautiful。
